Tuscany: Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano

Visit medieval cities for a full day, departing from Florence. Our first stop is Siena. The city of Siena was one of the most important cities in medieval Europe. Siena was known for its commercial and banking activities. During our tour, we will see Piazza del Campo, the Torre di Mangia with its sculptures, and the Church of Santa Maria in Provenzano. The historic center of Siena is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We proceed to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, one of the most famous symbols of Italy. The magnificent city of Pisa is always recognized for its famous Leaning Tower and its beautiful architectural structure consisting of the Cathedral and the Baptistery. Located on the banks of the Arno River, Pisa is also known for its magnificent medieval architecture, Piazza dei Miracoli, the monumental Campo Santo, Piazza del Duomo, and the picturesque bridges over the river. Our last stop is San Gimignano, where you will see real medieval structures. San Gimignano is a hilltop town adorned with medieval towers, including the stone-built Torre Grossa. Its historic center, surrounded by 13th-century walls, is located in the Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square surrounded by medieval houses. Our tour ends in the center of Florence.

Enjoy the splendor of the Eternal City with its mosaic of buildings, squares, and fountains built in the last 2000 years. Make a wish at the foot of the Trevi Fountain, enjoy the unique and unparalleled architecture of Rome's epic Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Piazza Venezia. Of course, we will make a magnificent stop at the monumental Roman Colosseum where you can take amazing photos. After our visit to the Colosseum, we will proceed to the Vatican. Our tour will allow you to discover the splendor of the Vatican Museums (with priority entrance) and the Sistine Chapel. You will admire two masterpieces by Michelangelo: The Vault (at age 33) and The Last Judgment (at age 60). You will be immersed, respecting the strict silence. You will also have access to St. Peter's Basilica within the Vatican; thus, you can only fully understand its splendor by being inside. Michelangelo will greet you, this time as a sculptor, with the Pietà. The great master Bernini will also be present at the High Altar, with his famous Baldachin, protected by the giant Basilica Dome, Michelangelo's masterpiece, now its architect.
